Pitch
La Sixième Collection is a boardgame in which you are one of the greatest fashion creators of all time. You must confront your rivals by creating stunning outfit ensembles and become the true master of fashion.

For La 6ème collection, we wanted the game mecanics to be in synch with the fashion theme to the point where they could not be dissociated.
To accomplish this goal, we tried a lot of different types of gameplay and prototypes throug the first month of productiuon before settling on with the current one.
This experience allowed me to learn about a new culture but also to work on my Core Game design Skills.
We finally settled on using cards which allowed us to represent cothing in a esthetic manner while having gameplay possibilities like associations or information representation. That is what we decided to center our gameplay around. We decided to avoid using a classic board and to use the card themselves to create the board by using them like dominos to create clothing ensembles.
This helped me learn a lot about cards and their gameplay possibilities.

After contacting a publisher, we realised the game could be improved in order to be published as a boardgame. That is why we decided to redesign some parts of the gameplay in order for the game to be more suitable for launch while still keeping the core of the game.
A big part of this was playtesting to improve the ergonomy and UX of the game and reduce the number of assets used.
Finally, we added some content to the game as new unique powers for the different characters you can play in the game.
Wanting to improve my skills in Live Design and Balancing, I took charge of that mission. By analysing deeply the core system of the game and setting up regular playtests I was able to create and balance 8 different powers adapted to different levels of skill from the players.
That second step in the design process of the game helped me to improve my skills as an analyst and in playtest management but mainly my content design skills.
